What is Bell’Assai

Bell’Assai means “truly beautiful” — and that’s exactly what we strive to create: food that’s beautiful in flavor, quality, and care.

The name was inspired by a small restaurant in Taormina, Sicily, where Becky saw a quote on the wall that read:

“La vita non è aspettare che passi la tempesta ma imparare a ballare sotto la pioggia.”
“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, but learning to dance in the rain.”

Fittingly, Tempesta — the Italian word for “storm” — is Becky’s maiden name. And Bell’Assai is the family’s way of dancing through life: with purpose, with flavor, and with heart.

Who we are

At Bell’Assai Bistro, we believe great food and warm hospitality have the power to bring people together—and at the heart of our business is a dynamic mother-daughter team who live that belief every day. Based in Silver Lake, Wisconsin, Bell’Assai is proudly operated by Becky and Ellie Rovik, whose combined passion, creativity, and experience drive everything we do. From our mobile food and beverage venture to our thoughtfully crafted menus, our story is rooted in family and fueled by flavor.

We specialize in elevated nutrition, using all-natural and organic ingredients whenever possible. Our offerings are thoughtfully designed to serve guests with a range of dietary needs—whether gluten-free, dairy-free, plant-based, or allergen-conscious—without ever compromising on taste or quality.
